Play2Learn Tutor Terms

Tutor Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to tutor applications, screening, onboarding, and approved tutoring work through Play2Learn. By applying, submitting a voice sample, interviewing, or accepting tutoring work through our systems, you agree to these terms.

Last updated: August 19, 2026
These Terms set the basic conditions for providing tutor services to Play2Learn as an independent contractor.
1

Role and service model

Play2Learn provides live English conversation practice while the tutor and learner play League of Legends together. This is a conversation-focused service, not game coaching and not a lesson about game slang or gaming memes.

Core duty: keep a real spoken English conversation going in a natural, understandable, learner-friendly way during the session.
Game format: the current tutor recruiting page is for League of Legends on PC.
Operational tools: approved tutors may be asked to use Play2Learn systems such as Discord, P2L Voice, session links, and other approved workflow tools.
Role fit: this role is closer to a reliable English-speaking gaming partner than a formal premium coach.
2

Eligibility and application accuracy

You must provide truthful and complete information in your application, voice sample, interview, and later onboarding steps.

Minimum age: applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Independent contractor relationship: if approved, you will provide services as an independent contractor unless Play2Learn states otherwise in a separate written agreement. These terms do not create employment, partnership, agency, joint venture, or authority to bind Play2Learn.
Language standard: applicants must have clear, natural standard or American English that Korean players can follow easily.
Game standard: applicants must meet the rank and platform requirements shown on the recruiting page or application form.
Setup standard: applicants are responsible for their own PC, headset or microphone, internet connection, and other equipment needed to perform the role.
Taxes, registration, and expenses: unless mandatory law or a separate written agreement requires otherwise, approved tutors are responsible for determining and meeting their own tax, registration, reporting, filing, payment, insurance, banking, equipment, internet, software, and other business obligations in their jurisdiction.
3

Screening and approval

Submitting an application does not guarantee approval, onboarding, work assignments, or any minimum number of sessions.

Screening methods: we may review form answers, rank information, voice samples, interviews, mock sessions, and later performance data.
AI review: Play2Learn may use automated tools to analyze voice samples, audio quality, speech clarity, and other application signals as part of the screening process.
Final decisions: approval, rejection, suspension, re-screening, or waitlisting are at Play2Learn’s discretion.
4

Voice sample, interview, and session recording consent

By applying, you consent to the collection and review of the voice and audio materials you submit or create during screening and approved tutoring work.

Application audio: your application voice sample may be reviewed by staff and automated systems for speech clarity, fluency, background noise, and job fit.
Interview audio: interviews, mock sessions, or training calls may be recorded or documented for hiring, quality, and safety purposes.
Session audio: approved tutoring sessions may be recorded, stored, transcribed, or analyzed for learning reports, quality control, operations, safety, and product improvement.
Marketing release: if you separately opt in to Play2Learn's Marketing Release during onboarding or give clear written or recorded consent, you grant Play2Learn a worldwide, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, edit, publish, display, and distribute your name, profile, image, likeness, voice, and approved recording excerpts for Play2Learn marketing, recruiting, and promotional materials. To the extent allowed by law, this use does not require additional payment or prior approval. You may withdraw that permission for future new uses by contacting Play2Learn, but withdrawal does not require removal of materials already lawfully published. Any recording that identifies a player or other participant may be used publicly only after Play2Learn has obtained the necessary rights or consent from that person.
5

Privacy and data use

We may collect personal information and operating data needed to review applicants, onboard tutors, deliver sessions, pay tutors, maintain service quality, and keep the platform safe.

Examples of data: name, contact details, Discord ID, application responses, rank details, voice samples, recordings, availability, and payout-related information if you are approved.
Purpose of use: recruiting, screening, scheduling, service delivery, payment, quality assurance, support, analytics, safety review, and legal compliance.
Confidentiality: tutors must not share learner identities, learner audio, recordings, session details, or internal Play2Learn information outside approved systems.
Private storage expectation: session recordings and related learner data are expected to stay inside approved Play2Learn systems or approved storage, not personal devices, personal clouds, or public platforms.
Work product: to the maximum extent permitted by law, session reports, written notes, tags, feedback, operational comments, and related work product created for Play2Learn may be stored, edited, reused, and owned by Play2Learn for service operation and improvement.
Retention: Play2Learn may retain application and operating records for as long as reasonably needed for recruiting, business operations, safety, payment, dispute handling, and legal compliance.
6

Professional conduct

Tutors are expected to create a safe, respectful, and learner-focused conversation environment.

Respectful behavior: harassment, hate speech, sexual misconduct, threats, discrimination, or abusive behavior are prohibited.
Boundary rule: do not move learners into personal side relationships, private coaching arrangements, or off-platform contact channels without express approval.
Non-solicitation: you may not use Play2Learn sessions, learner relationships, or internal information to move learners into private off-platform paid arrangements or competing service relationships.
Conversation responsibility: tutors are responsible for their own lawful, respectful, and professional conduct in every conversation. They must use good judgment on sensitive topics and prioritize learner comfort, clarity, and professionalism.
Session style: tutors should keep the pace calm, clear, and natural instead of treating the role like high-energy gameplay coaching.
Accountability: Play2Learn may investigate complaints, review recordings, and take action based on conduct, reliability, or quality issues.
7

Scheduling, claiming, and session responsibility

Approved tutors may receive or claim work through real-time matching, future bookings, availability windows, or other workflows used by Play2Learn.

Claiming or confirming a session: once you accept a session, you are responsible for showing up prepared and following the current operating instructions.
Session start workflow: tutors may be required to follow the current bot and P2L Voice start flow, including actions such as confirming session start, joining the approved voice room, and submitting the required post-session report.
Availability: tutors are responsible for keeping their availability reasonably accurate in the channels or tools Play2Learn asks them to use.
Fallback channels: tutors should not switch to unapproved fallback voice channels unless Play2Learn admin instructs them to do so.
No guarantee of assignment: Play2Learn may change matching logic, available session volume, tools, service windows, or onboarding requirements at its discretion.
Technical readiness: if your equipment, internet, or setup prevents you from delivering the session properly, Play2Learn may reduce, deny, or reverse payment for that session if appropriate.
8

Compensation

Public recruiting pages may show a simplified pay range. Final payout handling for approved tutors is governed by the active rate and session rules communicated by Play2Learn at the time of work.

Published range: the recruiting page may show a general hourly range for marketing and recruiting purposes.
Operational pay: tutors are paid according to the active payout rules communicated through onboarding, internal documentation, or direct tutor updates.
Bank payout: after approval, tutors may be asked during onboarding to provide a Philippine bank account held in their own name. Subject to the active payout schedule and completed-session records, Play2Learn sends PHP payouts directly to the registered account. Tutors are responsible for keeping their account information accurate.
Admin-separated detail: payout setup, schedule, no-show handling, standby handling, and similar economics may be communicated separately from the public recruiting page and public terms summary.
No guaranteed volume: approval as a tutor does not guarantee a minimum number of sessions, hours, or earnings.
Payment issues: Play2Learn may review, adjust, hold, offset, or deny payment for fraud, serious misconduct, no-shows, missing required deliverables, invalid session records, chargebacks, refunds tied to tutor fault, or major quality failures.
9

Status, suspension, and removal

Play2Learn may pause, limit, suspend, or end an application or tutor relationship if needed to protect service quality, learners, or platform operations.

Examples: inaccurate application information, repeated no-shows, poor clarity, harmful conduct, confidentiality issues, technical noncompliance, misuse of approved session tools, or learner safety concerns.
Immediate action: in serious cases, Play2Learn may remove access or halt assignments without advance notice.
Company discretion: Play2Learn may limit, suspend, or end access to tutoring work, tools, accounts, or onboarding status whenever reasonably needed for operations, compliance, safety, quality control, fraud prevention, or business protection.
Continued obligations: confidentiality, recording restrictions, and payment/dispute provisions survive removal where applicable.
10

Liability and updates

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Play2Learn is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or lost-profit damages arising from the application process, tutoring opportunity, platform access, third-party platform outages, or use of Play2Learn systems.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, if Play2Learn is found liable on a claim related to these public tutor terms, its aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of the unpaid amount properly owed to the tutor for completed approved sessions or the amount paid by Play2Learn to that tutor in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Play2Learn may update these terms from time to time. The latest version posted on this page governs future applications and future tutoring activity after publication, unless we communicate a different effective date.
